San Francisco to Larkspur Ride (ride rating: B/3/40)
San Francisco to Larkspur Ride Sunday September 24, 1995--9:30 a.m. B/3/40 Leader: Steve Scharf Starting Point: Palace of the Legion of Honor Museum Suggested that riders bring a windbreaker even when the weather is nice. Check on Ferry times. Notes: Since this ride: 1. The Palace of the Legion of Honor has reopened, so parking is no longer easily available during operating hours of the Museum. However there is sufficient parking along EL Camino Del Mar, and you can still meet around the fountain in the museum parking lot. Be nice and do not park in the small museum lot, even if there is plenty of space at the time you start the ride. 2. EL Camino Del Mar was closed to non-residents after the December 1995 storm, due to the sinkhole. Check on its status, and be prepared to take an alternate route such as Lake street to Arguello, then through the Presidio. 3. The Point Bonita Lighthouse reopened in February 1996, and this may be a good place to stop for a tour, though it will delay lunch. Weekends only.
